Sushi Roll Fillings

You're just starting out making your own sushi. What do you fill your rolls with? Where to start?

There are all sorts of ingredients you can make sushi with, you're really only limited by your imagination. Sushi is art and the nori is your blank canvas. Just like baking a pot-pie - what goes inside is up to you - some protein, some vegetables and a sauce to tie it altogether.

I've had sushi rolls with all sorts of interesting ingredients including raw beef, sweet potato and mango. To get you started though, here is a list of the standard items I always have on hand when I'm making sushi rolls.
